FROM ONE JOHNS SISTER TO ANOTHER...

John's sister has written a simple, arm around your shoulder, caring book for the brothers and sisters of suicides...the left behind. She doesn't claim to have all the answers, she doesn't boast that she knows it all....she just says, i've been there- let me help you.
I picked it up thinking i'd just begin it...i didn't set it down till i was finished. FINALLY someone has acknowledged that there is a whole separate grief for a suicide sibling. FINALLY someone has reached out.
There is nothing astounding here...but what she has done is say hey, what you are feeling, what you are going though is ok, there is NO normal, and you CAN get through it in YOUR time.
I remember when my brother John shot himself when i was 16. No one talked about him anymore. I recall thinking, my god if he can't handle life how am i supposed to?? He was my idol. There is no getting over it, scar tissue forms but the hurt is forever.
All Johns sister needs to do is supply a tissue at the end of the book.

I lost my younger brother to suicide 2 months ago; he was twenty-two. He was my very best friend! It is hard to know what to do, what to think, or how to go on without him. This book showed me that I am not alone in my loss.

bought for my daughter

I did buy it for my daughter who lost her brother through suicide, but I read it quickly first. It is a good read and very simple to understand
